Scandium Light 8.88
The entire line of TATONKA high-end tents is equipped with our Scandium light-weight tent poles. Scandium is a chemical element that is added to aluminium alloys to dramatically improve material characteristics: breaking strength is up to 20% greater than that of the conventional 7001 alloy, and Scandium poles are up to 30% lighter than the 7001 aluminium poles but are still just as strong. Flexural strength until permanent deformation is up to 8% higher than conventional flexural strength ratings, which is particularly important for tent stability in strong winds. These poles are also treated with a n extremely hard, smooth coating, ensuring a long service life and easy handling. In addition to the new material characteristics, the newly developed insert connections with tapered end pieces (swaging system) is significantly stronger and more break-resistant than conventional insert systems. |

Schoeller WB400
Schoeller WB 400 is a very high-quality SoftShell material made up of three layers. The upper fabric is comprised of elasticated nylon fabric, which enables plenty of room to move and repels dirt. An acrylate coating in the middle (in place of an additional membrane) repels waters, without obstructing sweat transportation. The napped inside of the fabric made of polyester stores heat and is pleasant to wear. The material is extremely resilient against rain, snow and wind (5-15 l/m²/s) and offers noticeable breathability (8000g/m²/24h) and is very comfortable to wear. It is also
equipped with 3xDRY finishing. The multifunctional high-tech finishing repels moisture and dirt, quickly transports moisture from the inside to the outside, is extremely breathable and fast-drying. |
